How this list is compiled

CheckMLM ingests the official KPDN direct selling company registry, which records every AJL license and its status (active, expired, or cancelled). We add a blacklist flag when a company operates without a license, appears in enforcement actions, or sells products flagged by KKM for banned substances. Every company name links to a full profile with its license history, AI safety score, and community reports.

Frequently asked questions

What does it mean when an MLM company is blacklisted in Malaysia?

It means the company has been flagged for serious issues — typically operating direct sales without a valid KPDN license (AJL), selling products that KKM found to contain banned substances, or appearing in regulatory enforcement actions. Blacklisted companies should be treated as high risk.

Is it illegal to join a blacklisted MLM company?

Operating a direct sales business without a license is an offence under Malaysia's Direct Sales and Anti-Pyramid Scheme Act 1993. Members of unlicensed schemes risk losing their money and may be participating in an illegal pyramid scheme. Always verify the AJL license before paying any joining fee.

What is the difference between a revoked and an expired license?

A revoked (batal) license was cancelled by KPDN, usually for breaching license conditions. An expired (tamat) license simply lapsed without renewal. In both cases the company is not currently licensed to run direct selling in Malaysia.

How do I check if an MLM company is licensed by KPDN?

Search the company on CheckMLM — every profile shows the live KPDN license status and AJL number — or check the official KPDN direct selling list at kpdn.gov.my. A legitimate direct sales company must display a valid AJL license number.

What should I do if I was recruited by a blacklisted company?

Do not pay any joining fee. You can report the company to KPDN through their hotline 1-800-886-800, and file a community report on CheckMLM to warn others.
