Privacy Policy

• Community reports — the title, description and evidence links you submit, plus a display name and an email address if you choose to give them. Both are optional. A name you provide is shown publicly beside your report once it is approved; leave it blank and the report appears as "Anonymous". Your email address is never published and is used only to follow up on your report.
• Company information contributions — the company details you submit, plus an optional name and email address. These are seen only by our reviewers and are not published.
• Alert subscriptions — your email address, used only to send the alerts you asked for. Every alert email contains an unsubscribe link.
• Emails — anything you choose to send us when you contact us.

• Usage statistics — we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and the site that referred you. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this.
• Server and security logs — our hosting provider and Cloudflare, the network that sits in front of the site, process your IP address and browser user agent to deliver pages, block abuse and rate-limit form submissions.
• Price comparison clicks — when you follow a shop link from a price comparison we record the time, the referring page and your browser user agent so that we can count clicks. Your name and email address are not attached to this record.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work.

• locale — remembers your language choice for one year.
• Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga) — tell visitors apart so that we can produce aggregated statistics.
• Advertising cookies — set by Google and its partners when ads are shown. See the next section.

We may display ads served by Google AdSense to cover the cost of running the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Advertisers have no influence over safety scores or over which reports we publish.

Some shop links on price comparison pages are affiliate links. If you buy through one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships are not an input to safety scores.

We use personal data to run the service, review and publish community reports, send the alerts you subscribed to, measure and improve the site, prevent abuse, and show advertising. We do not sell your personal data.

We share personal data only with the service providers that help us run the site: Google (Analytics and AdSense), Cloudflare (network and security), Resend (email delivery) and our hosting provider. Some of these providers process data outside Malaysia.

AI safety scores are generated with Anthropic's Claude from public company data and the number of reports filed against a company. The text of your report and your contact details are not sent to it.

We may disclose information when the law requires us to.

Reports and contributions are kept for as long as they remain relevant to the public record, or until you ask us to remove them. Alert subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is held by Google under the retention settings of our Google Analytics property.

Under the PDPA you may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected, withdraw your consent, or have it deleted, including the removal of a report you submitted. Email us and we aim to respond within 21 days.

CheckMLM is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
